I think on the co2 issue may become a non issue.A company called aeb or Algae Tech are trialling algae disposal at the Manildra factory in NSW.This involves containers and not ponds which would be better in the cooper basin to limit evaporation.
I do have some aeb and am not plugging them but just pointing out the co2 can be dealt with and may even be valuable.
