It makes you wonder what's behind all of this, for instance if the problem is about water contamination, then what happened to all the water when the inland floods like the one that went through Emerald and all the open cut coal mines went under. Remember the big dragline that also went under that thing uses 1000 ltrs of deisel a day so where did that go and all the oil on roads from local traffic. Farms also went under we saw hole farms under what happed to all those chemicals in those sheds.

If you have a look at Gladstone Queensland Alumina is built on a mangrove swamp so where does all their run off go (Into the bay I would guess) and Stuart Oil is right on the high tide mark in Gladstone.

I'm not saying these thing are right and we do only get one go at the enviroment but I would like to say that I think the contamination is insignificant compared to some of the other things going on around the country.
