    Hi TerryD,

All good, valid points you've raised and I hope you haven't already made your mind up against the company.

We have been going through much the same issues over at PEN in order to obtain a licence to mine.
Everything I've read so far indicates the far-reaching bureaucratic levels that these companies have to appease.
Finding and gaining rights over a property seems to be one of the easiest parts of opening a mine.

I realise PEN is uranium, but I believe mining practices are held stringently over most of (dare I say 1st) the world. This is not some 3rd world military run dictatorship country in whoop whoop.

Following seismic studies of not only the immediate mining site but also overall areas, they will need to present their case to the relevant authority.
Throughout, the stringent testing procedures will be overseen by whichever department puts their fingers into which pies.
There is no way they are going to allow an Australian mining company to do an Ok Tedi on them.
The respective EPA department will be watching WHE very closely, and I don't believe that corners will be cut just because Hungary is currently reliant on another country for its fuels.

You are correct in saying that this process will take a while to accomplish. Frankly, I'd be worried if it just went ahead full pelt getting green ticks and gold stars from the government departments in order to hurry it up without relevant environmental issues being addressed and dispelled.

Finally, in reply to your quip (?) that they wouldn't try this venture anywhere else, like in Germany:
"We are targeting early 2013 to get the Mecsek Hills project up and running- that's our priority. In parallel to this we will also be picking up other coal assets in Hungary, and we are also targeting Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany. (Wildhorse MD Matt Swinney)

Hope this helps to alleviate some of your concerns.

    Regards.
