    Hoping for a French project

    http://www.lejdc.fr/nievre/actualite/pays/sud-nivernais/2014/05/15/gisement-de-lucenay-cossaye-le-site-convoite-par-une-societe-australienne_11004378.html

The Australian company Linc Energy, the world leader in underground coal gasification, wishes to conduct a study on the deposit Lucenay-Cossaye. The ball is the last year in the camp of the Ministry of Productive Recovery.

In May 2013, the Australian company Linc Energy has submitted to the Ministry of Productive Recovery "a proposal for conducting a social and technical development of underground coal gasification in France assessment", and more specifically the field Lucenay-Cossaye.

Listen to the sound recording of an interview with Adam Bond, head of clean energy department Linc Energy:

A year later, Linc Energy officials still expect the department's response and decide carefully on what they do not yet officially called a "project". If no study has yet been conducted on the site (reservoir evaluation, analysis of coal quality, etc..), The interest of Linc Energy for the site, however, is real and confirmed, since the document submitted to the Ministry evokes In broad terms, the economic and social impact of its eventual implementation.

    Why Lucenay-Cossaye?

Linc Energy claims to be able to develop thanks to the technology of underground gasification (CSG), coal deposits "the economic exploitation was previously considered inaccessible or economically unfeasible."

This is the case of site-Lucenay Cossaye, the mining project was rejected in December 2009 by the Minister of Ecology Jean-Louis Borloo, after three and a half years of passionate battles in South Nivernais (see elsewhere). In fact, 250 million tons in the basement are considered "locked" to any conventional operation.

    Where is the project?

In his opening. Linc Energy now awaiting a response from the Ministry of Productive Recovery. The silence of a year does not seem to arouse impatience or disappointment in his own department responsible for Energy, Adam Bond, who says it is open to any other assessment field in France.

In its document submitted to the Ministry, Linc Energy proposes to "undertake a foresight study on the implementation of technology GSC" on the field Lucenay-Cossaye, and make its report "within six months" .

She wants to "maximize the benefits of information already available, such as the profile of existing drilling, surveying, hydrogeological information and data available in the region to study the compatibility of coal (sic) technique GSC."

Linc Energy offers the government a "partnership" and invites participation in the study at 50% charge. In exchange for a concession of minimum 30 years, both parties undertake an "exclusive collaboration".
