re: 40cents Hi 40cents. Are you 50cents little brother? If so I imagine you are well invested in gold - rings, jewellry, watches - bling bling. Don't let all that shiny stuff blind you to the new gold, zinc. hehe

In response to your "points to note"

    Quote: "low-grade, complex ore-body WORRYING ??"

Worrying, not at all. What's worrying about twenty to forty years of mine life in the lowest quartile of production in the world? Of course your average Joe will have some problems with the word complex because it's a little too hard (or is that complicated for him to understand) - by the time he's worked out what it means in a mining geology sense I'll have been able to load up quite a bit more. Tough luck to him for not doing his homework properly.

Quote: "news Societe Generale will advise Union on raising funds ONLY ADVISING ???"

Not a bad place to start I would think, getting a major European financier to commit to back up the shares they already control in the company. Now given the little backwater Australia is for this type of project hopefully we'll also see a major mid East bank doing some advising as well - after all those filthy rich oil sheiks creaming in the cash at $70 US per barrell needs somewhere to park it.

Quote: ""Wow, but where is Mehdiabad? Oops, it's in Iran. THEM AND US !!""

Iran, that's right, safer than the Phillipines, PNG or Indonesia. But the US ain't building confrontation with them are they now? Suits me fine. If George W and Ahmadinejad can shake their sabres a bit long I'll be laughing because I'll be set and the rest of the world will still need a lot of zinc, including the mid East seeking to spend all those oil dollars. Woohoo!!

Quote:""for dedicated followers. check out 'union gold mining' going back a few yrs. (run by rob) (was also quoted on frankfurt but why, i ask ?) rob murdoch has been around a while. not gotton very far but he is a tryer. but on who's money ??""

A few points to cover there. Firstly a warning that you should be careful when you have a crack at someone's personal reputation. Secondly dedicated followers probably already have a good idea. However to my memory of the facts, UCL was listed on Frankfurt under the influence of key German shareholders who were also on the board. Hans Moser was one. These shareholders had a lot to do with UCLs I/T plays - none of which were particularly problematic although a distraction from the main business the company comes from ie resource exploration/geology. A couple of examples, Identikey - a very good security solution sold well, Phillipines telecom company - not a huge earner but sold recently with handy cash coming in as a result; JAB technology floated off on the Newcastle SX. A lot better record than many other IT players of that period. In respect of other aspects - GOA floated off, gold assets now trading at a premium albeit a speccie.

"Not gotten very far". Let's see; spotted that Iran was opening up their barriers, established first mover relationships, found what looked to be a whale of a zinc deposit, have proved it up to be the best project to come on line anywhere in the world, listed on AIM in London, brought on board significant institutional shareholders, about to embark on the capital infrastructure financing process which, presuming success, will lead to hundreds of millions of dollars of annual revenue if zinc was only 50-60cents per pound. In short have achieved things that nobody else has. Not gotten far? Interesting perspective but I can see where you are coming from.

"On whose money?" The same money that any other junior explorer manages on - capital raising. However in this case a significant input of Rob's own cash as well. You might say well it's money he's paid out of shareholders pockets. Well I don't begrudge it and I think you owe him an apology.

Quote: "i'm not saying ucl isn't any good but do watch events carefully."

Yes I agree people should watch events carefully. But do it a lot better than the Ferret did. Get to know all of the facts and then make your decision according to the risks you can handle. It's a bit ridiculous Ferret saying things like "getting on the zinc bandwagon" when UCL identified an opportunity many years out.
