The Catheter is used in diagnostic measurement of heart electrical activity, and in modifying the electrical conductivity of the heart.
An ultrasound device cant do that. It might help the catheter operator determine where they are placing the device/electrodes , or alternatively determine if the result of the procedure was effective.
I cant see how it could replace the catheter at all, only how it might be used in conjunction. Someone please correct me if Im wrong.
