I find it extraordinary that people have the arrogance to believe there is only life on this speck of sand on the infinite beach that is the universe.

I can see however why Governments would want to cover it up.

Can you imagine the global turmoil that would ensue for the billions of believers of various religions and mankind in general if hyper intelligent creatures with big eyes suddenly appeared and spilled the beans on the meaning of our existance ?

"Ahh yes...sorry about this but your distant ancestors were really just our pets we accidentally left on this planet many millenia ago, we never thought you'd last this long"...

or....

"We've come to harvest our crop.... You're it"
