Sorry, I thought you were referring to the OT pointing towards Christ.
The OT tells us that there is life after death. At death, the body ceases to function and begins the process of returning to the earth, but the spiritual part of man lives on: “The dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it” (Ecclesiastes 12:7; cf. Psalm 146:4). The NT points out in many places where that spirit is coupled with a new physical body when Christ returns to be judged for rewards (for the believers who have repented of their sins and accepted our Lord) or judged guilty for their sins and thrown into the Lake of Fire (for the unbelievers).
