1 Corinthians 15 / 42:44 - 42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.

    1 Corinthians 12:27 -
Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

This is probably enough to show you that the body of Christ was perishable, it died, but the spirit of Christ rose and empowered His followers to spread His Message over the entire planet.

As for the resurrection, it has been written that the disciples, the lovers of Christ are in fact the body of Christ. After three days of heartbreak and disillusionment the lovers of Christ, who were His body, rose up again to teach as Christ had instructed them and this was a profoundly greater resurrection of Christ than had His dead body come back to life.
