@DBT9 most likely natural phenomena we have not quite understood/analysed yet, or spin-offs from our busy way of polluting everything including the atmosphere around our earth - there is now space junk as well. But I do understand the fond assumptions that it must be something biblical, or fairytale-like made up by our childish minds. I, personally, have had strange things happen to me here on earth, but I was in an extra-ordinary state of mind at the time, without realising this - so it could be the case for the brave fellows who venture into space, everything is so different for them out there, so maybe their perception is changed/thwarted too, but maybe heightened.
