@wafflehead and whoever is interested: I watched a series on Netflix by the English journalist and writer Graham Hancock. Most of what he states is at the very least interesting - and he talks about an asteroid, or comet hitting somewhere in North America and causing worldwide flooding events, he is also obsessed about ice melts causing flooding. Most of his theories are at the very least interesting, but he then goes on to claim there were ancient civilisations destroyed by those events - and thats where he lost me. But it's worthwhile listeing to his theories, which he presents in books, but much of it is also available on U-Tube videos. There are other scientists who confirm the asteroid/comet theory hitting North America's 'Bad Lands' and causing flooding events. So, there definitely was a great flood, because it is also mentioned in the stories coming from ancient Sumer, a civilisation older than the Israelites' who have taken over some Sumerian myths into their Book.

    Fascinating subject!
    Take care
