    Yes I think a lot of those groups begin with one individual who has had some sort of legitimate experience. Before you can say 'boo', he has amassed some followers, created a clan and added innumerable stories, heirarchies, dogma, rules and regulations. Just like your standard religions have done. Jesus' teachings weren't enough - they had to build it up into an incredibly powerful and wealthy empire. Well the Catholics have anyway!

    I like to figure out things myself without some guy in a special hat telling me what's what. I wouldn't even join a UFO special interest group. I couldn't think of much worse, actually. Groupthink is most definitely not my thing. But the question - 'was anything real to begin with'? I think the answer is probably yes. It's an interesting topic for sure, especially now that the Pentagon has admitted these things are real.
