Morning Captain - yes, I remember those discussions way back in those early days too. It worries me that Pirra, who was one of the Top 20 holders, hasn't been on here since the fall started. I really hope he had the sense and detachment to reduce his holdings at least.
Sharespec: only you can make that decision. But if it helps, just look at the prospects. Do you think that the price is going to go back up over a dollar before June 30th? If you doubt that (as I do), then taking a loss at some stage during this financial year would seem to be a sensible thing to do and use it to offset the capital gains on some of your other investments/trades. Personally, I got out with a profit, as I have held ARU for so long - but only a relatively small one. But it was a hard decision to make, while keeping hold of my ALK and LYC shares. I put the money from the ARU sales into accumulating more LYC when they puled back the other day.
One of the problems we all face, of course, is that the prices of ALL these stocks are heavily manipulated by the big fellas. We have JPM playing tunes on ARU, we have Morgan Stanley trading, stock-lending, and shorting LYC all over the shop, etc etc. So we, the poor retail punters, are completely at the mercy of the big boys. Placing your bets onto the winning horse can be very tricky....
I had what I hoped would be the trifecta with LYC, ALK and ARU. Now I've had to get the vet to put ARU out of its misery before the race is finished, to stretch the analogy somewhat....
