I to thought that the conscription policy was just a future excuse to use for a defeat.
Not so fast. The UK military has ~70000 members, barely enough to survive 2 months in the field.
So we could surmise that a militia would be used to discover those members who would be interested in going further, like being a tanker.
They anticipate a confrontation with Putin is on the cards.
