However, having become satiated with crime series, together with a few good movies, as commented on herein, I've come to the point where I needed to go back to some traditional favourites. And first of these is the 20 yr something old production of Pride & Prejudice with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle (who has played less prim & proper roles). I have always loved and worshipped Jane Austen, both in print and on the screen. Her human insight and understanding are just timeless and all the more remarkably so given her isolated life on the whole.
But lo and behold, after only watching about 3 episodes, I saw today on BBC news that the very shirt Colin Firth wore in that iconic scene in the series where he dived into the dam, is now up for auction at a reserve of around 6000 pounds, along with other items from series like Downton Abbey.
