Of course, relapsing into depression, it's not the same country anymore. Its once enduring values dont exist any more, or only for relatively few. Even much of its landscape and cultural heritage have been ripped apart.
But so it has gone for many countries in what we call the West. The Austrian Empire that once turned the barbarians away is no more.
