This is a 1970s series set in the mining & fishing community in the north of England after WW1. I don't expect many would remember it. It stars James Bolam, who's been around since a sitcom of the 1960s called the Likely Lads and is still working I think. It's a pretty grim portrayal of pretty grim lives except for those who fight their way out of it. I bought the box set many years ago and have just started watching it again.
