Hello alonso,
You mention Gorbatchev.
With your vast knowledge repository of historical docos et al,
have you ever encountered a definitive statements from Gorbatchev,
as the last Soviet head, or others about the fate of Raul Wallenberg?
Net has this,

'The mystery must be resolved': what befell Swede who saved ...
Sep 23, 2019 - No formal, official announcement has ever been made about the fate of Wallenberg, often called Sweden's Schindler, who has become an honorary citizen of four countries and the subject of countless books and films since vanishing in early 1945 into the the Soviet prison system, where he is presumed to have died. "
I wrote to William Taubman, a professor at Amherst College in Massachusetts,
who has interviewed Gorbatchev in:
https://www.theguardian.com/books/2018/jan/11/gorbachev-his-life-and-times-by-william-taubman-review-the-mysteries-remain,
but no info was then made available to conclude this bio mystery .
In fact, I did not get a reply from the good professor.
Gorbatchev would surely know; the last of that era of insiders to Soviet Dark History.
Any pointers will do, just your take on the subject.
Thanks alonso & cheers,
