I've seen a couple of really good movies in recent days..
The Teacher
This Czech/slovak film is set in the Communist era of 1983.
A teacher at a school, where she is also secretary of the party branch, has a nice little scam going.
At the start of the year she has the students stand up one by one, give their names and state what their parents do for a living. Bit by bit we find out that some students are getting better grades and it happens to be the ones whose parents are very helpful in one way or another to the teacher.
I won't say any more but a parents meeting to discuss the situation is brilliant comedy/drama, which is how reviews have classed the movie.
Last Chance Harvey
A rom/com in the best traditions of things like Notting Hill
With Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson ( how does she stay so youmg?), what's not to like
I just loved this movie.
