Il Divo I had a second look at this Italian movie which gives a fragmented view of the life and times of former prime minister Gulio Andreotti. It concentrates mainly on his alleged Mafia links, he was tried three times but acquitted on appeal. I couldn't help thinking about the similarities of Italy in this period to the time of the Borgias. The bloodshed and corruption was staggering. And yet through it all this strange hunched up figure of Andreotti sat by impassively. Interesting viewing..
