Yes how lovely she was at that time
I shouldn't have passed over the Alfie theme song, which you only hear at the end, like a funeral elegy for Alfie's indiscretions, without mentioning my dear old friend Keith. Keith was an extremely talented, inspirational tenor sax player who also played oboe. He made that song his as an oboe solo around the time it came out. (I think it could have been a Burt Bacharach song, it has that sound). Unfortunately he died just 3 or 4 years later when he fell or jumped from a Kings Cross window. A sad loss. Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end.
I shouldn't leave the Alfie soundtrack
without also noting that the incidental music was written & played by jazz immortal Sonny Rollins.
