Geez the Irish are making some good stuff
Watching The Dublin Murders currently. Great series but it's so obscure. I suppose I'll understand it eventually, along with the theory of everything
What I can understand is the beautiful doco, Mastroianni the Ideal Italian. I get it out occasionally and watch it again. It's just so wonderful to see those aging actresses come alive with sparkling eyes as they talk about working with him.
When he worked with Fellini (Dolce Vita, 8 1/2) he was never given a script, just some scribbled notes on a scrap of paper.
He would say "What do I say here Federico? "
"Say what you like" would be the reply
The Americans offered him a fortune to work there but he wasn't interested.
