Well in my boy soprano days it was the last two years of primary school, which was in what they called opportunity (selective) classes at Fort St on Observatory Hill Sydney. But I think my voice broke pretty well soon after that and I've never been able to pitch anything vocally since. Which is a drag when you're a musician, although you can pitch notes in your head even if you can't sing them.
