Did anybody see this movie on SBS World Movies. It was I think a German production, certainly it was in German. I have a memory of this terror group in the news, but nothing of the detail. Well it was 50 years ago or thereabouts. Similarly with Black September and the US group, was it The Weathermen ? It made big news, the 70s I think, when one of their operatives was shown to be Patty Hearst, daughter of one of America's richest families. And then there was Carlos. All around the same period. But this movie showed me what I'd not seen before, that is the extreme violence of their campaigns of bombing, shootings & kidnapping. And also the ruthless treatment they received under the German justice & prison system, controlled I suspect by veterans of the Nazi party, Most might say they deserved it but violence begets violence doesn't it. A long movie, about 3 hours 15. I watched it in instalments.
