    In my list, if I ever made one, which I won't, of the top 100 movies, I would have to include Hobson's Choice.
    Made in England around 1954 by David Lean, who also made Lawrence of Arabia I think, as well as some other notable movies.
    It's what I'd call a whimsical comedy as well as a social commentary of the north of England in maybe the Edwardian era.
    The people I knew in it are Charles Laughton & John Mills as well as a teenage Prunella Scales (later best know as Sybil in Fawlty Towers, if you remember that).
    If you can get past a black & white film and the period setting it's a wonderful production imo.
