Looking on my shelves for something to watch last night I found I had a copy of the new version with Carey Mulligan, who does an excellent job. I must have bought it but never watched it. Enjoyed it immensely and it's not as somber as most of Thomas Hardy stories.
One of the main actors in it is a bloke called Michael Sheen and I swear to god he sounds so like Anthony Hopkins that I kept thinking he must have taken lessons from him.
