GDF most likely took the better prospects. The other licences may not hold the same potential so will probably be farmed out to smaller parties and therefore extract less $.

The more i've thought about it the more i realised how important choice of partner is. GDF is a great partner in more than just dollar terms. They're completely different to the big Oilers. Imagine the scare campaign the extremists would have rolled out if it were BP or Exxon. The pictures of oil covered pelicans would be put up everywhere. And yes i know shale gas has nothing to do with offshore oil spills, but we're all aware of how the greenies disregard fact.
