Wind flow over the water is an important natural mechanism that produces ocean current and mixing of ocean water and thereby redistribution of water temperature and nutrients and salinity.
These disruption of the existing ocean current will have a negative impact on natural plankton growth which are important organisms that absorb CO2 and produce O2 we breathe. Plankton are the foundation of the food chain for fishes and their bloom are very sensitive to ocean temperatures and nutrient levels. Plankton bloom is too important to mess around with. Messing with ocean current is not a good idea.

Putting up enough wind farm across the natural ocean wind flow is a bit like putting a dam across a big river or drawing too much water upstream of the river. It weakened the river flow and strength with serious ecological consequences downstream as we can see with our current issues in the Murray Darling basin river and the 3 Gorges Dam in China.
