"now lots of people don't like that word 'socialist' - but, I'm afraid - they will just have to get a new word - or get used to socialist"
Yup, Labor and Labour shouldn't be afraid to nail their colours to the 'socialist' mast.
Blair's 'third way' was a clever ploy at the time and managed to drag the centre to the left, much as Maggie had dragged it to the right.
The biggest election issue in Europe is in-migration and the ability/desire of those migrants to assimilate with European traditions/customs/behaviour.
Both Macron and Sunak failed dismally in that area and it cost them.
Centre-right is now strong borders and the voters are making that known.
The Tories could come back more in line with their voters or their voters will leave them for the new centre-right Reform party.
It will be an interesting re-alignment to watch.
Now over to France on Sunday/Monday, can they circle the wagons to keep Le Pen out?
