Your concern about EV's is a bit premature and your example of Mom & Dad suburbia is not really pertinent as they are actually the market that IS embracing the EV transition; If I were you I would use Weekend warriors who want to go on fishing trips once a year !
Anyhow, thankfully the EV market does collapse (doubtful) it is but a fraction of the total projected market for RE magnets ~ Power generation, household eclectics, power tools and now even short haul commuter planes will provide more than enough RE demand for the next decade or so.
