It's not the 'weekend warriors' even. The things just don't have the range for utilisation outside dense city areas.
Take for example Sydney, Australia. The latest Ford EV van, at full load for a rather standard delivery run to the Central Coast (on the fringe of greater Sydney) doesn't have the range to go there and return. And that is just a standard activity.
The EV market isn't going to collapse , but it will be relegated for certain uses only, not replace everything.
The closest analogy is that they will be like the tiny 'kei' cars in Japan that work for the purpose of city cars only. They sell and work there very well.
Or the BMW 'Smart Car'.
But outside of their environment they aren't suitable nor usable.
That's what will happen when the market settles it out.
