Especially when there's liquidity issues, strong usd, highly geared property firms and bank runs. Magellans downfall was largely due to an outsized alibaba position ahead of the potential ipo of ant financial which flopped due to jack ma's comments regarding the Chinese government which considerably contributed to underperformance. I wouldn't think emerging market exposure would be desirable at the current moment. As far as I'm aware GQG's exposure to Chinese banking or real estate is nil or minimal but the economy wholsitically could be a basket case if bank runs and mortgage boycotts worsen. Something I'm monitoring extremely closely.
