This is an interesting BBC docu on the US poundshop market. Its a couple of years old and before poundworld was sold to private equity and also covers briefly the unsuccessful push online of the poundshop format. Its made for TV (so very watchable) but has some good insights into the sector, including how important direct sourcing from asia is to the cost position of these formats.

It also helps put into perspective the importance of TRS's scale, store growth, low debt, investment in DC's and HK sourcing is to their longer term position.

It runs for several episodes but definately worth a watch for TRS investors.
