You're right. I've heard that too. Groups of Chinese heading to the US to pick up resi bargains. I think parts of the US market have been terribly oversold. A friend of mine just picked up a 4 year old, 4 bed home in a gated private community in Fort Myers, Fl sitting on one of two private championship golf courses for $360k. Bought it from the bank, so it needs about $70k to be spent, but those sort of deals won't last long.

Haven't heard of the same trend in the UK though. Chinese residential investing into the UK won't be nearly enough to stop the rot.

No - I haven't noticed much news of the UK real estate sector in recovery. Pretty well doom and gloom from what I can tell.

I think your right though. The REIT sector will recover a little faster than the underlying assets, because it's been oversold. The survivors will thrive.
