It makes much more sense to modulate requirements at the "other" end, the power stations, where the demand modulation equipment is already installed. As far as I am aware, Utilities do not actively modulate solar and wind input from domestic producers, and I can't think of why they might want to.
I disposed all my stock 26/5 but continue to watch closely, and I hold other semi-green technologies.
