You sound like you've done your own survey and speak from a position of authority and balance ..... But I suspect if not your reference to "vast majority of people" equates to just you. If you've never had an accident you wouldn't know. Some people have less than perfect health or degenerative spines, who could suffer more significant injury, as can the elderly and children, or people with disabilities. The nature of incident and predisposition of the person involved will determine severity of injury. Should people injured through someone else's fault (speeding/inattentive or intoxicated driver) really not be allowed to claim? Where would you draw the line? Let's hope you or a loved one never have an accident.

Insurers peddle fraud as justification for higher cost of insurance to government to support the agenda for reform. There is no clear evidence as to the basis on which the insurers figures are arrived. The so called claimant lobby add reasonable and sensible balance. It's not just horseshite. Despite claims volumes decreasing significantly following introduction of the PI portal and reduction in costs - insurance premiums have gone up not down. Erm...... Plus there continues to be an increase in insurance tax.

Sure there is fraud, but not every claim made
is fraudulent. In fact the percentage of fraudulent claims is less than 1% and most of those are not Road Traffic accidents.
