Regarding the conflict, I believe that you don't go into your neighbours, fire a few bombs and not expect any retaliation. This war has only just begun.
The markets will hanker for any positive word from our western leaders or the war itself.
We've already seen threats, bluffs, lies and escalation in the conflict and as that continues so will I expect to see the markets show recovery and decline.
Did the AU market over-react? Possibly! It showed no upside anytime during the day.
Will the AU market bounce today (Fri 25)? I don't think so!
As of now (1pm in NY), the DOW is down around 690pts from a low of about 820pts. The war won't end tomorrow, so I'm not expecting the markets to bounce - bar a miracle but ofcourse I expect the bargain hunters to come in - perhaps Monday.Anyone who feels a need to attack my opinions here, I suggest you retreat to the bathroom for some relief.
