US, NATO playing with fire. Maybe they want another war, but this would be a totally different to the ME and African interventions for obvious reasons.
The US intervenes into other nations far too readily and never seems to actually come out the victor. They just leave a mess.

He said the US has been taking “provocative military moves” against Russia while NATO has been deploying military forces at Russia’s borders “in violation of the 1997 NATO-Russian treaty and the Montreux Convention.”
Roberts said the US and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization are exacerbating tensions following Washington’s coup in Ukraine.
...On Monday, US Secretary of State John Kerry threatened Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with more economic sanctions on Moscow over the Ukraine crisis.
Washington has already imposed targeted sanctions on a Russian bank and officials in Putin's inner circle over the tension.
Roberts said the US would be “another failed empire” should Russia ditch the dollar in its transactions.
“It is only a matter of time before it is universally recognized that the US is a failed state. Let’s pray this recognition occurs before the arrogant inhabitants of Washington blow up the world in pursuit of hegemony over others,” the analyst wrote.
