Learning to understand the Ukraine's position: vs Resources: vs Russian Imports, has been both informative and educational.

Reading Ukrainian Government snippets opens your eyes to the willingness of the Government to become self sufficient as quickly as possible.

Reading about SHELL being able to bring what was thought to be exhausted drill holes back into production shows how our improved technology cannot be underestimated. (See below)....
Applied to our POV105 and the Entire FIELD...WOW, sitting pretty, when considering we are 30 years down the track, and have new gear and technologies.

70 BCF from depleted fields...we (might) have a full one...LOL....mines bigger than yours :)

    Then add in ...

And recently SHELL signing up to a 10 Billion Dollar Deal with the Ukraine for Shale Gas development, Production Infrastructure categorically puts the Ukraine in "OPEN for BUSINESS" status.

How lovely would early Secondary Objective success be with a potential 20+ sq km field be??
Almost as exciting as the primary?? :)

Mykola Azarov: Shale gas production is powerful impetus for Ukraine

    23.09.2013 | 19:09
DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION OF THE SECRETARIAT OF THE CMU

Shale gas output is a powerful impetus for the development of the economy of Ukraine. This was started by Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov in an interview with the Russia 24 TV channel.

"The scale of reserves of shale gas in Ukraine is estimated somewhere around 4.5 trillion cubic meters. It would be enough for 100-150 years. Do I have to say what it is a powerful impetus to the development of the country? It is a gas in the center of Europe and it is on an industrial scale," Mykola Azarov said.

At the same time he also said that the Government is focused on the fact that "this may be the cost of, so to speak, on a well, 140, 150, 160 dollars for 1 thousand cubic meters approximately, and in retail it may be about 200 dollars."

"Of course, these are competitive figures for us that allow our industry to work," the Prime Minister said.

"Maybe in some way Gazprom don’t like this, but it's them own fault. If they have not "choked" us with these prices for three years, maybe we would not start to extract shale gas. It is possible. We have a number of other problems, but once they pushed us to this, we are not going back," Mykola Azarov added.

He also noted that Ukraine has studied American, Canadian, Polish experience in shale gas production matter. "We know both pros and cons. We know the risks. But we also know if we do not disturb the technique if we do everything in accordance with the agreement, and we have reached such agreements and clearly defined, then, of course, the risks will be minimized," Mykola Azarov said, adding that while implementing the project the continuous monitoring of the environment to be carried out, mining will be as open as possible, including to any public organizations.

Royal Dutch Shell has drilled the first well for the shale gas production in Ukraine. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said at the YES X International Conference in Yalta.

However, the Prime Minister said that

Royal Dutch Shell had offered Ukraine its modern technologies to recover the extraction of hydrocarbons at the depleted fields during his working visit to the Netherlands and the meeting with the company last week.

"These deposits are depleted in terms of technology the 60th of the last century, but not exhausted in terms of today's technological capabilities. Therefore, we expect that our deposits preserved in Kharkiv and Sumy regions that used to give Ukraine 70 billion cubic meters of natural gas as a result of the introduction of modern technologies allow us to produce large volumes of gas," Mykola Azarov said.

Mykola Azarov: Ukraine chooses Shell for safe shale gas extraction

DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION OF THE SECRETARIAT OF THE CMU

Ukraine has chosen Dutch company Royal Dutch Shell to recover shale gas in Donetsk and Kharkiv region because the company has the latest technology making safety gas and oil output in these densely populated areas.

This was started by Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov during the Shuster Live program on the Inter TV Channel late on Friday.

"Shell is the largest company that has the latest technology for safe shale gas extraction," he said.

The PM noted that negotiations with Shell had been conducted for two years.

Mykola Azarov added that the contract signed before with Shell on September 12 is mutually beneficial. "We will gain some energy independence, whereas Shell will earn their money," he said.

Recall, on September 12, during a working visit of Prime Minister Mykola Azarov to the Netherlands, Ukraine and Royal Dutch Shell inked an agreement on operating activities regarding a production sharing agreement for hydrocarbons to be extracted on the Yuzivska area.

Under the agreement, depending on the volume of production, 30% to 60% of gas will belong to the state. The proportion between investors - Royal Dutch Shell and Nadra Yuzivska - will be fifty-fifty.

At the first stage Royal Dutch Shell will invest around $500 million in geological exploration, whereas the company's total investment in commercial development and construction of communications on the Yuzivska area is estimated at $10 billion

The Yuzivska area is located in Donetsk and Kharkiv regions. According to Royal Dutch Shell experts, projected gas reserves are estimated at 3-3.5 trillion cubic meters

Mykola Azarov: A new installation of the Chervonodonetsk Compressor Station will produce 100 million cubic meters of gas

    15.06.2012 | 13:16
Department of Information and Communication of the Secretariat of the CMU

Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov takes part in the ceremony of commissioning a new compressor unit at the Chervonodonetsk Compressor Station in the Kharkiv region.

"This large, modern complex of the Compressor Station will increase the production and transportation of more than 100 million cubic meters of natural gas. This is a very important contribution to the solution of the tasks that the President has put before the Government to ensure the energy independence of Ukraine. I congratulate you on such a significant step forward. We show all our friends and foes that Ukraine can on its own resources, due to its will and determination to solve the problems" - Mykola Azarov said.

The Prime Minister recalled that the Government is making every effort to increase domestic production of hydrocarbons implementing a program of energy conservation and energy efficiency and it actively seeks alternative energy supplies. In particular, Mykola Azarov noted that in September of this year, the drilling on the continental shelf of the Black Sea begins.

The Prime Minister said that the launch of a new compressor, which uses modern technology, will increase production of natural gas throughout the year.

"In Soviet times from the field more than 30 billion cubic meters of gas were annually produced, but technologies that were in those days were not allowed to produce more than 30%, today’s technologies allow us to raise the gas and increase production. In the future we will increase own gas production" - Mykola Azarov said.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Government is seriously engaged in expanding of gas and oil production. According to him the specialists of Shell and Chevron, which won the competition for the exploration and development of shale gas at Yuzovska and Oleska areas and which have concluded agreements on the joint production-sharing, were surprised by the speed with which agreements are beginning to be realized. According to him, only three months will take place since the signing of the agreement on the distribution of products to beginning of drilling.

However, Mykola Azarov entrusted the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry, Yuriy Boyko to study the possibility of extraction of shale oil in Ukraine.

Putting into operation of the Chervonodonetsk Compressor Station of the affiliated company Ukrgazdobycha of the Shebelinkagazdobuvannya will solve the problem of seasonal fluctuations in gas consumption in Shebelinka field in summer by Kharkov industrial region by way of the alternative supply of Shebelynka gas into pipelines of southern posts Shebelinka - Dnepropetrovsk - Kryvyi Rig - Ishmael up to 3 million cubic meters per day. Operation of the compressor station will also provide compensation for natural gas production from Shebelinka gas condensate field in the volume of 82 million cubic meters annually.

"Every million of cubic meters of gas is extremely important under conditions of extremely expensive Russian gas" - Mykola Azarov said.

    ----------------------------------------------------------

That's enough teasing you all for one day.

Have great evening everyone...News soon with the grace of the Oil & Gas gods.
