My guess is if the Russian artillery can get within 6kms of the Kiev metropolitan area they will start shelling the metropolitan area relatively indiscriminately ,
The Russian artillery will need to stay in a sweet spot , if they get too close to the metropolitan area they will become within firing range of javelins . Too far out and the projectiles will fall short
The hardest part for the Russians will be the later door to door fighting
