    You're free to live as you choose in Vietnam so long as you don't criticise the government or Ho chi Minh. There is a fairly solid number of journalists in jail for pieces they've written about uncle Ho.

    Employment can still be limited based on who you're family is ie it can be hard to enter the army if your family are from the south.
