I feel sorry for the people of the Ukraine as they are being used as pawns in the game that politicians play, BUT Putin has lost any credibility in the major world, and will fail even if he wins in Ukraine

The major powers are harnessing opposition against Russia on all sides and eventually Putin will push the wrong button, he has already bombed the largest Nuclear power plant in Europe and if that develops any problems, it is a trigger for an automatic reply from NATO and the rest of the world to squash him

He can bully his way through an non aligned country but he has no hope of winning a war against the world

Even putting nuclear armed bombers in Venezuela is a pointless exercise

Almost 6,500 miles separate Caracas from Kyiv, but the protracted political crisis in Venezuela, with its attendant humanitarian emergency, is not immune to spillover from the war in Ukraine. As if Venezuela’s challenges were not already sufficiently hard to resolve, the progressive build-up of geopolitical tensions over recent years has produced a fresh layer of complexity, highlighted as never before by Moscow’s threat to expand its presence in the Americas in retaliation for NATO moves in Europe. But can foreign powers, despite their deepening adversarial stance elsewhere, somehow harness their efforts to facilitate a solution in Venezuela?
