eeerr, no @albatrosss your perception of this is faulty. Ukraine want nothing to do with Russia. They are putting their lives on the line to be a part of 'The West' as you put it. If you had a choice to live under a despotic murderous thug like Putin or be a part of a progressive European society who has democratically selected leaders one can see why they are prepared to die for this cause. Your version is disgraceful but I excuse you and will put it down to total ignorance
