They got the UMC shares @ 20c via the IPO and free options. Now worth around $37.5 million with UMC finding a new level post announcement of around $1.20-1.25.
THX reply to ASX query put the value @ $46.75 million based on the close yesterday for UMC of $1.52 and UMCO @ $1.30.
Take 20% off that and you get around $37.5mill. 20% off $1.52 is $1.21. That is a brilliant result with considerable upside from both the UMC investment and THX's own nickel and uranium plays.
The speculators pushed both stocks too high and the profit taking was overdone. As UMC settles, THX will still be laughing all the way to the bank.
