with regards to recent weakness...

i think the resignation of such a well regarded director (albeit through illness) could have prompted some to pack up and take some profits off the table. combine that news with the general downturn last week and it probably explains most of the low volume selling. would imagine umc will move up again over coming weeks-months as the full story gains wider exposure in the market.
