IMO we shouldn't give up on Tony reaching a last minute deal with one of the interested parties.
If I was a Chinese company and I saw the UMC situation id be straight on the phone to Tony to shore up a deal - but thats just me.
Yes, a SPP is likely but not guaranteed until an announcement says so. The latest presentation said:
"Pluton has been in discussions with a number of entities regarding a potential investment in the company but no agreement reached to date"
Didn't sound to me as if an institutional and/or shareholder purchase plan was a certainty, but we shall see.
Im tempted to buy more now but if I do then you can be sure there'll be a SPP and I wont have the funds to participate. Hmmm... Decisions
