Some of the umps are extremely precious poonces. I think they need to toughen up, stop trying to be buddies with the players by calling them by their nicnames. A well umpired game is one where you don't notice the umpires at all.
When they start offering advice to players and speaking like primary school teachers do to little kids, they look like real twits. Personally I'd do away with most of them and recruit some full-time professionals.
