Rudd and Gillard are so similar to Blair and Brown. Perhaps we need a diplomat and a politician to run most countries. If Rudd hadn't been so stubborn on a few issues he could have cruised back into power with a decent majority. Given time these two can still pull the plane out of this dive and get back to flying altitude. The mad Abbott may overcook and make it much easier. Rudd is right about where the real power is, in the international arena. It is in this arena that refugees are foisted upon us, as are wars and expensive purchases of military equipment. As Australia is so distant from other countries, we need both a Prime Minister and a strong travelling diplomat.
