Does it really hurt ZFX that much to keep the bid going for a couple of months? The initial cost of determining whether to bid or not plus formulating the offer document are now past so does it cost much now for them to maintain the bid?

If not, keep extending it at $1, let the hedges and funds buy more and more at a price of over $1 and then after a month or two declare the bid final and walk away.
