re: demand surfaced "SSI is falling, so a comment like, But someone IS buying
is strange when the shareprice is falling"

Anyone in a real business should have some grasp of supply and demand..

OK paw paw was on special at woolies on Friday

The red variety at .98 a Kg !

I happen to like Paw Paw and Bought some..

Yes I know the price had fallen from the week before
But still To My mind I still Bought,,, I was buying ...

Yes Woolies were selling But they were selling last week at higher prices too...

I feel It is totally wrong to say prices were higher last week... which meant people bought and woolies stopped selling.... And this week woolies were selling and everyone stopped buying...

In fact I bought none last week at the high prices and
significant quantity at the lower prices...

So We have price ... But what about volume..

Isn't it right to say woolies sold more at the lower prices
    Because people bought more ?

Or how you would say it... Price fell because there was No buying.. That is real nonsense..

Price of SSI shares hit $4.20.... Why did the price then fall ? My take is that Buyers demand tappered off

Why interesting question ( One You are not interested in )

Why was it that demand tapered off and not increase supply ??

Demand supply curve basics here.... falling prices on low Volume means fewer buyers..

OK price fell .. No does anyone see value in SSI

Are there SSI enthusiasts out there.... IF YES at a certain price ( even though it still might fall ) Volume will rise.... This is the buying I said was there...

IF No one likes Paw Paw at any price... woolies can lower the price all they like.. They can wish to sell ...

But If it is a No Goer.... They will Not even be able to give it away....

    Volume always means some buying....
Increasing Volume as price declines ( esp If stride down lessens ) Always means increasing buying..

    Volume always means some selling...
Increasing Volume as price rises ( esp If thrust up lessens ) Always means increasing selling...

Decreasing Volume price rising....maybe falling demand
Decreasing Volume price falling .... maybe falling supply

Unless large price range..... Then low volume could mean lack of supply with Buying reaching up to find any stock ( A large gap up )

And then could mean No demand ( Paw Paw is off )
Selling reach down and can not find demand...
    ( Gap down.... Mkt panics..)

Now SSI shares ( any shares ) are a limited resource..

We have only OUR holdings to sell and others to buy

Gosh there is good demand for SSI shares today
Lets bake a few more million to meet the eager demand ?

I can not do that... I can sell what I have got... maybe to never be able to buy them back again at the price..

    And Visa versa,,,,

OK This is a very brief overview of supply and demand

And price and Volume,,, And context and behaviour of the stock itself defines what is the baseline...

Take it or leave it.... I have taken your post on it's merit

That is you were under some illusion that someone can sell something and it not be bought...

Our point Here Volume traded occurs where the most distressed seller meets the most eager buyer ... It is a meeting at the margin....But every share traded has a buyer and a seller.... Not just a seller.....

OK The point of the above posts was to give some background into method

And with the aim of trying to determine If Volume
is acting as accumulation or distribution

At the price is the pool of stock available for purchase
    shrinking or increasing..

At the margin... At any one sale... who can say ( unless volume is huge )

But looking at the trend and context in price and volume
    and activity....

I can only offer My view....

    last three years ?

concept of failure and success as No meaning to My posts....

If pushed failure would be not having taken up the opportunity Mr market was offering on his fire sale pricing...

Some of Us load up on Paw Paw when it is on sale !

And There was nothing wrong with the Paw paw

Some No doubt said if price is too low to be true
Then it must be bad Paw Paw... They also said that if that was a real twenty dollar bill on the footpath someone else would have picked it up...

A lot of time maybe right ... But Then maybe a key is always in the volumes

Price is low ... But if more and more are buying ??

    And price decline reverses ?

And now and then it is the offer that is getting taken out...

    lets see next week...

    But look at the volumes
because that is where a seller and a BUYER did meet

And some of that limited resource changed hands

As to "You can only survive for so long with the gift of the gab, if profits do not come now???"

SSI has been listed for what is it 18 years ?
Must have issued lots and lots of shares ?
Must have had share consolidations ?

Do you know the answers ?

The answers I have to these three questions alone

    spell SURVIVOR in capitals

    And Investment potential

( did to Me when I first looked at SSI )

Last ASX announcement looks the goods

And the charts A picture of price Volume and activity

At this moment looks the goods too

But look for yourselves and next week is next week !

Charts would be horoscopes if We are not looking at both sides in the trade...

But Some people are longer term investors
    Some are shorter term traders

    All buying and selling...

But at a price hands can become very strong or very weak... stock flow from one group to the other

End of the day trading games wash out...

In the fullness of time... It is about real earnings

And if that twenty dollar bill that appears to be on the footpath is real....

If you and I are both SSI shareholders are We in the same boat or not ?

Silly to wish nothing but the best on fellow ship mates

angry all the best and may good fortune shine down on you..
